Apple Declares iPhone 5c and iPad mini 3rd Generation Obsolete Products: Their Repairs and Services Are Completely Stopped
On November 1, Apple will add two gadgets to the list of definitively obsolete products. This follows from a memo sent to authorized service providers.
What does it mean
So, on this day, the iPhone 5c smartphone and the 3rd generation iPad mini tablet with Wi-Fi and TD-LTE will be declared obsolete. This means that the manufacturer stops all types of repair and maintenance of these devices.
The iPhone 5c was introduced alongside the iPhone 5s in September 2013. This is the first Apple smartphone with a large number of bright colors to choose from. It was also the first time that Apple released a low-end iPhone designed for customers on a budget.
Apple marked the iPhone 5c as vintage in October 2020. This means that the company and its service providers could only provide certain repairs to the product when parts were available. Support and maintenance of obsolete gadgets is completely stopped.
