Apple has increased its share in the smartphone market by 3%, but still could not beat Samsung
Analytical agency Canalys published a report on the smartphone market in the third quarter of 2022. The list of leaders for the year has not changed.
What is known
Apple was able to increase its share more than other manufacturers that entered the top 5. If in the third quarter of 2021 it occupied 15% of the market, then in the reporting period the share of the company from Cupertino increased to 18%. Despite this, Apple remained in second place.
Samsung continues to be the market leader. The South Korean giant increased its share from 21% to 22% in a year. At the same time, the gap from Apple decreased from 6% to 4%. Xiaomi with the "old" 14% continues to take third place.
The shares of OPPO and vivo amounted to 10% and 9%, respectively, although a year earlier each company held 11%. All other manufacturers in total control 27% of the market against 28% last year. In general, the market sank by 9%, but Canalys experts predict an increase in demand for smartphones in the next six months.
